Snaps from a life ill-spent
Three-week "lockdown" task -- sorting and filing 60 years of negs, slides and photos.
Firstly my attempt at the 1987 East Africa Safari Rally (with fearless navigator Trevor Baker). Like most competitors in the three-day two-night Safari we failed to finish but lasted a lot longer than our professional rivals Bjorn Waldegard and Stig Blomquist. The event was won by Hannu Mikkola -- who had TWO helicopters.😒
Second a diverse collection with images from Baghdad and the Iran-Iraq War, with Somali guerrillas during the War in the Horn of Africa, with British and French UN forces during the Bosnia War, from Uganda after the fall of Idi Amin and from Beirut during the civil war in Lebanon.
